They're Out They're Out They're Out!!

TWELVE days later. . . FINALLY! Twelve days after she was admitted to Malone hospital and transported to Burlington then sedated and on a ventilator and feeding tube and finally had surgery Monday, Joy is finally completely awake and off the ventilator and feeding tube!! They tried removing them yesterday but her lungs were too weak and she was still too sleepy from the sedation to make it work. Today, they gave her a reversal for the sedation because she just couldn't seem to shake it. I just got the call a few minutes ago. She is fully awake and talking for the first time in over a week!! She'll be weak for a while, but they plan to get her sitting up on the edge of the bed today and gradually build up her strength again. We're just sooo excited!!
