Birthday Parties

Nope none around here recently! But I just had one of those moments tonight where I said something from long ago and found myself explaining to my sweet and patient husband. His only question was whether it was a long story or not. When I assured him it wasn't, he asked if it would take me a long time to tell it. . . (He thinks some people take entirely too long to tell a simple story - he should know! But we won't go into that!) This post is mostly for my siblings. Sorry to the rest of you casual lurkers! To make a long story short. . . The other day driving through town, we noticed that these people were driving a car that had been sitting "FOR SALE" in their yard for quite some time. We thought maybe someone might have finally bought it. Well, on the way home from church tonight, we noticed that the car was sitting back in the yard where it has been sitting. Jon commented that it must not have been sold. I said, "Maybe they were just test driving it." Then on second thought I said, "or maybe the owners just needed to drive it for some reason." Then since I was on a roll, I added, "or maybe they just needed to drive it so it wouldn't get messed up from sitting so long." And then I said those magic words that conclude any nosy musings. . . "OR MAYBE they're having a birthday party!" Then I came back to real life and realized that Jon had absolutely NO idea what would have made me say something so random about someone trying to sell their car! It took a few minutes to even remember what started the whole birthday party thing, but it got funnier as I remembered the story! VERY random - I know, but I thought you might appreciate this funny memory with me! And if you need a little memory jogger, think Jeff's, the neighbors, and his mom making beans for supper on his birthday!!

I believe that was Becky's very creative imagination at work again. :) Kind of funny 'cause I was telling Kevin the other day how I used to make up stories about where people were coming from or going to when we were sitting in the car at places waiting for Mama and Daddy. I thought that's where the going to a b.day party originated; I forgot about the whole story we made up about Jeff's neighbors. Were you in on the trip down to Blackmon's church the last year we lived in N. C. when we saw all the people on motorcyles. I don't remember everything I made up but I do remember since we were in Asheboro, it had to do with Kenneth and Ann Hill and Charles and Carol Cox riding motorcylces to "cyclefest '97". :) My poor daughter doesn't have a chance!

P. S. It seems like Tim LeBeau (or someone like that) was at Blackmon's church and Rach drove [some of] we kids down there.

I don remember the whole ting about riding with Rach.

Net, it was 4x4 and it was not then that was in IN when we were driving all over just because we were bored. We followed that guy because he was driving down the road with his blinker on and we wanted to see how long it's take him to notice! If I remember right he never did. :-)

By the way Leah, I've been meaning to tell you that I like the new pictures that you added to the side of your blog.
You know if you changed your comment setting to open in a little box, your music would keep playing when we read/leave comments. :) (I like your musice - especially lately.) Of course, I could just always go and put the CD in rather than harass you about your blog set-up. :)
