A Christian Nation

So here's my rant for the day: The last few days I have been listening to the one radio station I have found actually playing all Christmas music this year. Over and over again I have marvelled at the fact that for the month of Dec. it is all of a sudden perfectly acceptable to play things like "Joy to the world the Lord is come" and "a newborn King to see ba-rum-pa-pum-pum" and "Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary did you know that our baby boy would one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy was Heaven's perfect Lamb? The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am." and "Long time ago in Bethlehem so the Holy Bible say, Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day. Hark now hear the angels sing a new King born today and man will live forever more because of Christmas day." I was telling Jon the other day that I love Christmas music on the radio for this reason. It's OK to play things like that, and people just don't get bent out of shape or at least not enough of them to matter. The reason, I've concluded is because it is tradition. Everyone grew up on these carols right along with Jingle Bells, Rudolph, and Jolly ol' St. Nick and hearing them is a great reminder of years gone by. Having said all this, you tell me, Does America have a Christian Heritage? Were we NOT founded on the idea that "Christ the Babe is Lord of all."? Just something to think about. I have been! Merry Christmas!!

I thoroughly enjoy walking through wal mart and hearing religious Christmas carols. Also love hobby lobby for there frequent hymns all through the year and the fact that they close on sunday.

'Round here even the stations that play "nonstop Christmas music" rarely play carols or anything of a Christian nature. :(
