May Update. . . or should I say putting off housework. . .

I know, it's a little sad when I start making monthly update posts, but I haven't gotten any good pictures lately and I hate making little random posts about what we've been up to without pictures! The sad truth is that I STILL don't have any fun pictures, but here's a little run down or our recent activities other than the everyday work and church.
A few weekends ago, Mom and Dad Catton came to visit. They got here Sat. afternoon, stayed overnight, went to church with us Sunday morning, had dinner and spent most of the afternoon with us then headed home. A couple weekends after that, we spent a sunny Sat. afternoon/evening with family (Cattons) in Plattsburgh. This past weekend, Jon spent Fri. and Sat. working with his dad redoing their roof. I had to work all day Fri. so I drove down Fri. evening after work. We got to spend some time with family from other parts of the state too! Monday, after a LATE night with friends (because of the Monday holiday), we slept in and since we didn't have anything better to do, we drove back down to Mom and Dad C's house to pick up some things we forgot. It was a quick trip but an absolutely beautiful day to do it!
Tis' the season for busyness and outdoor activities! Summer means a weekly softball game (our friend plays on a team), family get togethers, weddings, church get togethers, outdoor exercise (yes I'm trying it again!) and other random projects. So far I've gotten a couple little house/decorating things accomplished. I installed a mounted paper towel holder in the kitchen, started patching the guest bathroom wall, ordered new towels for the guest bath, cleaned the computer room (again), and sanded and painted a decorative wooden sign for my living room. I still have a chair and foot stool to recover/refinish, a phone stand to strip and redo, and a desk to finish refinishing. Really none of these things HAVE to be done anytime soon, and some will have to wait until I rebuild my "project money" fund, but it's fun stuff to look forward to and it gives me stuff to do outside. I also have rainy day activities like mending and altering and sorting and organizing and HOPEFULLY disposing of! Also been doing a lot of reading these days. In the last couple weeks I've read two huge books (gotta love Francine Rivers). Now I have one more to go in that series then another book just as big (actually a combo of 5 small books in 1) and a couple smaller ones to finish up.
Oh, and then there is ALWAYS housework! It's like straighten... clean... laundry... repeat... There is just the two of us! I can't even imagine how people with kids do it! Anyway, I'm not getting any of this stuff done as long as I'm sitting here! As you can see boredom is NOT something I often struggle with!

Hi. Takin' a 10 minute break from the scrappin' project. I like your new background and fun fact (saw them when I saw your new post the other day.) I just noticed the new picture on the side today though. (I think it's new anyway) :) I'm likin' the new CD too by the way. Sounds even better professionally recorded than on youtube.

Yeah, the picture is kind of new. It's just a cropped up version of one I already posted a while back. I haven't actually gotten my CD yet. It's not released until the 11th, but the song on here is a song I found on playlist that I don't think I had heard him do before and I really like it!

We sure did enjoy the time at your house and you at ours. I'm sure you could have done without the little extra jaunt to p/u something but it was a nice day. I always love it when we can get together, it was nice to have other family visiting also. It's all about family!
