3... 2... 1... OH MY!

Wow! Now the countdown is really on! Less than a month to go! I can't believe it is really about here! Things are in good shape and I'm getting very excited about seeing everyone and about being married to the sweetest man in the world! Things are getting done. Three out of the four things on my list for this week are done, the dresses are in good shape, the cake details have been finalized, and now we are pretty well just waiting and making more lists!

Week Five - Checkin' it off!

Wow! Another week gone! And would you believe that all three of the items on our weekend TO DO list have been marked off?!? I am very proud of us this weekend! The week was a little crazy! I (Leah) was asked Friday morning, if I would put something together for children's services at a small church camp about 45 min.s away from home. Camp actually started on Thursday, and they wanted children services to start on Monday morning. If you know anything at all about children's work or teaching, you know that that is not very much time! I mean for me inspiration is key and if that doesn't come right away, well . . . So, I picked a theme and decided on stories. Unfortunately, however, inspiration didn't hit until I was ready to walk out the door Monday morning! Thankfully the whole family was going, I didn't have to drive, and I had 45 min.s to work on things. So, I survived, Monday through Friday with nine kids almost all week. They seemed to enjoy it, and I did too for the most part, but I was glad to see Friday morning come and go! This week I have a couple major projects to get under control, and a couple little things to finish up. Wednesday is July 4th and another wedding shower! I think we are really finally about to get everything done! Two weeks before Vermontville Camp, two weekends of that, then we're there!! Is that scary or what?!?!

Sittin' Pretty!

I KNOW I KNOW! They pretty well had it on me before I knew what was happening!! (I think that was Wanda's creativity at its best!) What's worse is that they have promised/threatened to bring it to the rehearsal! The cake looks pretty though! :-) (Compliments of Lillian!) Thanks to Sis Shumway for the pix!

Another weekend/It never rains but it pours! :-)

Here we are - another weekend!! The TO DO list has dwindled down to mostly things that can't be done until a little closer to time, and things that others are taking care of for us. It still feels like we'll never get everything together, but I'm getting more and more resigned to whatever happens! (I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not! : / ) Now it's just a matter of finalizing travel plans, making sure the dresses are getting done, and deciding exactly what we want to eat at the reception. (I know there's got to be more to it than that. That sounds way too easy! I guess we'll see.) We've got a Jack & Jill shower of sorts scheduled for the 4th of July. (A favorite holiday, by the way, second, I think, only to Christmas!) The Massena church ladies are planning the shower for me earlier in the afternoon, and the guys are supposed to join us a little later (for the food I think ;-). After this one I think that's all. I really am enjoying this whole wedding planning thing, but I can NOT for the life of me figure out why people would want to do it over and over again!

Showers of Love

Well, I survived my first bridal shower! No, really there wasn't much to it. I was only a little nervous, but nothing like I had expected! The Bloomingdale church ladies and Mom C hosted a very nice bridal shower for me last Saturday (June 16th). It was a lot of fun and a great way for me to get to know some of Jon's family's oldest friends better! I played some new "games", laughed a lot, ate way too much good food, and got lots of nice things for our new home! It was neat to feel all the love and support from a group of ladies who only know me through Jon. I was touched to know how much so many women think of my soon-to-be husband! Meanwhile, on the other side of town, the guys occupied themselves with a Bachelor party - dinner then mini-golf and ice cream. Would you believe that for all the whining and excuses about having to get lost while we were doing the girls only thing, they made us wait up for them?! :-) I don't mind! Thanks to Brad for coordinating the guy thing! It was a hit all around! P.S. The picture lover/scrapbooker in me is crying out for any pictures that anyone has from the shower! :-)

This, That, & the Bat!

So the invitations are all done and ready to be sent out tomorrow! For real this time! :-) It's starting to feel like we're getting somewhere now! It's about time too! I just keep makeing list and rewriting them and crossing one thing off and adding about three more! And a kind of random update. My friend who has been through so much with cancer and brain tumors and things, is doing well! She had a doctor appointment Monday, and after MANY MRIs and other testing, and about four doctors, they decided that she does not have breast cancer. They will continue to monitor her and do tests every six months to make sure it stays that way, but for now we are all very thankful that things are ok. Oh yes, and one other random thing - I feel the need to explain/justify the Batman picture. Yes, I (Leah) posted it on our page! Surprise! It seems that one of the many things that Jon and I have in common, is our love for Batman! Now mind you I hadn't even seen Batman until Jon came along, and I'm not quite to the "collector of anything Batman" stage of the Batman fan club, but I do love the movies! So, that said, I found this "Got Milk?" Batman picture and thought it was very cool with the classic Batman and all (although I like almost everything about the new one better!). So there you have it - my confession for tonight! :-)

Greetings

Well, here we are another day older. Scary huh? Leah and I have been getting things together for the honeymoon. We aren’t exactly telling everybody, but it you want to know, we may or may not share ;). On a more serious note, it is no question that God has blessed us and been helping us, and I would just like to thank Him for that. We found out tonight that we will be receiving some of the drinks for the wedding free. This has been happening with so many of things that we have gotten. Not that they were all free, but we find super deals on them. This weekend will not be such a productive weekend. Unfortunately, I have an exam Saturday that starts at 1:00pm and I have 4 hours to take it. (You would think with being out of school and all, I would be done taking tests… but NOOOOO New York State feels otherwise.) Anyway, I’ve been praying that I just pass it, and I’ve gone over parts of it and it seems okay, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Anyhow, I just wanted to fill in a little information for those of you who look us up every so often. Keep checking back, one of us will put something up in another few days or so! Much Love!

The Countdown

OK, That is a panicky feeling! 62 days! Can you believe it? Only 62 days until the big day!! I just looked at my little online planner and there are I don't even know how many "Past Due" things to do on there!! We are steadily chuggin' on everything, it just seems slow. Summer is so busy it seems hard to get anything done! We have been trying to get things done, but we can't get one whole project done before we 1) get distracted with one of the many other projects that need our attention, or 2) have to go somewhere or do something that can't be avoided! We only have the weekends to get anything done together, and here's how the weekends go. This weekend - Friday night was Relay For Life for a young friend of mine who had 3 brain surgeries within a years time and is now facing the possibility of breast cancer at age 15! (Say one for her and her family!) We didn't stay all night, but late enough that we couldn't get anything else done that night. Today we started on a bigger project which required a couple trips to town for supplies, had to cut one of our town trips short to meet with our soon-to-be landlord; then had to go back to town. We got home in time to head to a graduation party for a friend from church! The storm and rain (during the party), pretty well ruined any chance of continuing our paining project tonight! Tomorrow - well I guess we'll see. I'm losing hope for getting anything done then either!

Counting down the days!

Hi all, We're down to 81 days, but as they say, who's counting?! It feels like we'll never get everything done on time! It's all really going very well with the help of my sisters, Mom C, and the calendar reminder on my phone. :-) We are getting more excited every day! Soon we will be Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan Catton, and then real life begins. In the meantime, we are finishing exam week at SUNYs Canton and Potsdam, planning the trip down to Matt & Ellie's wedding, and trying to get things ordered, printed, sent, decorated, and all put together for the big day.

Greetings!

Well we decided to create this site mostly for the wedding. Our other site that we were working with was giving me all kinds of grief about posting pictures so I figured I would start here. Anyway, please keep a tab on us, I plan to put up pictures of the wedding party and other various pics. Have a great day!
